Urban Road Circuit
The roads in Torbay, like any other settlement of comparable size, are busy for most of the day. However, road closures, or partial closures will be possible in order to provide the Training Camp with a traffic-free training venue to provide a similar race layout to the London Olympic cycle course.
Closed Road Circuit
The Westpoint Arena lies outside Exeter, a 1? hour drive from Torbay. This offers a traffic-free 1.5 kilometre road circuit which could provide criterium-like race conditions for teams practicing drafting techniques.
Rural Roads
Outside of the built-up area there are large areas of more lightly trafficked rural roads on the eastern edges of the Dartmoor National Park in and around the Teign Valley.
Within the National Park there are numerous circuits that could be identified to give different types of riding ranging from gently undulating to “challenging” hills. All roads within the open Moor are restricted to 60kph as a road safety feature.
